Greeting

KOREAN

We are very much pleased to announce Echo Seoul and Cardiac Imaging 2018, to be held from September 14th to 16th, 2018 and welcome you to the meeting. The meeting will focus on critical role of echocardiography in daily clinical practice and research. This year, we have to consider drastic changes of the program and leadership for future development along with official retirement of Dr. Namsik Chung, who has been one of the program directors of this educational meeting for the last 20 years. We have seriously discussed with other opinion leaders in the Korean Society of Echocardiography to define appropriate positioning of this program. We concluded that the mission of this meeting should be the best educational program of non-invasive cardiac imaging modalities for the best patient care and clinical research targeting the best clinical outcomes. To accomplish this mission, we decided to invite Drs. Seung-Woo Park (Samsung Medical Center), Jong-Won Ha (Yonsei Medical Center), and Yong-Jin Kim (Seoul National University Hospital) as program co-directors. We hope our program will have new momentum with their passion and dedication.

This year, we tried to change the program to fulfill our mission and decided not to continue the basic review course. For active communication between the speakers and the audience, we added the critical role of panel discussion in almost every session. In addition, a special case discussion session was added in the early morning and we are sure it will provide important messages based on real clinical experiences. All these changes we try do not necessarily mean successful progress. We need your participation, cooperation, support and also criticism to achieve our goal, to be the best educational program in Korea. We are looking forward to hosting you and your colleagues in Seoul.
